I’m playing Pokemon ShinyGold and I’ve named my team after bands! My favourite Pokemon is Furret, so naturally, he’s Bloc Party. We also have Interpol, the Bayleef; (We Were Promised) Jetpacks, the Quilava; TheStrokes, the Croconaw; A G(reat) B(ig) P(ile) O(f) L(eaves), the Flaaffy; and Editors, the Togepi (who I have not yet started to raise).

I’m going to stumble across this blog post twenty years from now - when I’m sitting in my beautiful house with my beautiful wife and my two beautiful children, one son, one daughter, both named after Pokemon Gym Leaders - and I’ll read the above statement, and think to myself, “Yup, totally agree.”

OHMYGISH YOU GUYS. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves were so amazing. I wish there were better words to describe how I feel right now. I’m pretty sure I cried at one point. We were in the front row for the entire show and immediately after the last song (which was “We Don’t Need Our Heads” of course), Pete jumped off the stage and said hi to us and I shook his hand and he signed our records and HE’S LEFT-HANDED LIKE ME. I was so excited when I noticed that. And then he tried to have like a normal conversation with us, but me and Dave were so absolutely mesmorised by the fact that we were talking to our hero that we just didn’t respond a few times. Pete Weiland is just the coolest guy ever. I just want to hang out with the entire band one day. And then we got Tyler and Tucker to sign our records over at the merch table, where Dave and I also picked up this sweet-o tour poster. I’m disappointed that they sold out of the tour t-shirt with the kitty cat on it though. The only thing better than A Great Big Pile Of Leaves is A Great Big Pile Of Leaves with kitty cats. And Tucker said he liked my shirt, which is their album cover, because it’s out of print! WOO. Thanks to Bubbles for the wonderful shirt <3

It was just the perfect day. Oh yeah and then I saw Of Montreal. I actually just got back from the Paradise Rock Club. We walked all the way back in the rain because we’re smart. My body is in pain but my life has been fulfilled.
